Mase and Nina Newkirk's stone home in Little Georgetown
These photos of a Little Georgetown home were recently shared in the Historic Hedgesville & Environs group on Facebook.
Andrew James said the stone home, which was still standing as of November 2023, once belonged to Ellis Mason "Mase" Newkirk. Mase was the last in his family to own this home. Andrew said his mother spent time here in the late 1950s canning with Mate's wife, Nina.
Mase, born in Hedgesville in 1902, was the only son of farm manager James Clifford Newkirk III and Nellie Ellis.
